The fact that it only makes short videos makes perfect sense. Afterwards you can (with a time mask) better find and also view the relevant parts of the surveillance. By the way, the recordings are better if you read the card directly with the computer instead of using the software (bad pictures and video). A jpg image is created for each video.

I have been using it in continuous operation with Surveillance Station (Synology NAS DS218+) for a few weeks without any problems.
