The Lumix G97 only has a few new features compared to the G91 from 2019. Nevertheless, it offers attractive functions such as the integrated image stabiliser. The 4K photo functions, which Panasonic has omitted from newer cameras, can still be found here. The fact that the camera is no longer quite up to date can be seen in the autofocus, which is not capable of phase detection, and the not very fast...
The Lumix G97 sits comfortably in the hand and is easy to use. Rare in this price range: the camera and housing can easily cope with a bit of wind or rain. The pictures taken by the Lumix G97 are really good, whether photos or videos - and better than its predecessor, the Lumix G91...
The Panasonic Lumix DC-G97 is a well-equipped system camera for beginners. The image-stabilised MFT sensor (Micro Four Thirds) has a resolution of 20 megapixels and achieves a good result in the image quality measurement - quite respectable for such a compact sensor. It is only in low light and at high ISO settings that the fine details are increasingly lost...
