Command an army in strategic, turn-based battles as the tactical advisor of the Orange Star Army. Your expertise is needed as you move land, air and sea units across the battlefield. Defeat enemy troops and capture cities and bases to secure victory and keep the peace. Keep an eye on the groundbreaking terrain and weather as you lead a variety of units across multiple maps. This remake includes two campaigns covering the events of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising.

Defend your country with the help of Andy, Max, Sami and other commanding officers, each with their own specialisations and CO powers. Andy can repair units, while Sami can upgrade the abilities of troops. Your opponents can also use their own CO abilities. In both campaigns, the COs you meet play a crucial role both on the battlefield and in the story.

When you're not busy keeping the peace in one of the two campaign stories, you can let your army commanders play in Versus mode. Up to four players can fight on dozens of maps. Each player chooses a CO from one of the two campaigns and can strategically use their CO forces to turn the tide of battle. Customise your battle with options such as funds per allied base and fog of war.
