The demands we place on a 2,999 euro lens are high. Could the Nikkor meet our expectations? Yes! The resolution is great at 100mm focal length - but unfortunately decreases somewhat in the extended telephoto range. There is hardly any reason for criticism in terms of lens quality: neither vignetting nor distortion nor chromatic aberrations stand out negatively...
The new Nikon lens complements the manufacturer's previous telephoto solutions with a very versatile lens in the mid-price segment. Nevertheless, no compromises have been made on image quality or workmanship, only the speed is not particularly high, as expected.
