Die Coolpix S640 bewegt sich im Mittelfeld der kompakten Kameras. Solange eine HD-Videofunktion und Nachtaufnahmen nicht auf dem Wunschzettel stehen, ist die 190 Euro teure Nikon-Digicam keine schlechte Wahl.
Die Helligkeitsverteilung der Kamera gab im Test Anlass zur Kritik. Auch die Auflösung war etwas zu niedrig, verlief jedoch relativ gleichmäßig und resultierte in einem befriedigenden Wirkungsgrad.
