This semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular among keyboard modders due to its resistance to wear. Ducky molds the keycaps from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key labeling remains clearly legible. The keycaps do not develop the typical shine associated with other plastics that occurs with intensive use.

A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, combined with the three-stage feet, alleviates wrist strain.

To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky has tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional EVA foam layer to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
