Ducky moulds the keycaps from two layers of plastic to ensure that the key lettering is always clearly legible. The keycaps do not develop the usual lustre of other plastics caused by intensive use, keeping the keyboard looking like new for a long time.

A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their clunkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, together with the three-stage feet, relieves the strain on the wrist. To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad.
