The new Wi-Fi 6 promises more speed in the WLAN - especially in densely populated urban areas. AVM offers the new Fritzbox 4060, which can be used with the existing router on the cable, DSL or fibre-optic connection, so that the new standard can be used without much setup effort...

... The power consumption of 8.4 watts determined in the test lab is acceptable considering the performance. The data throughputs, see values on the right, start within the expected range, but drop quite quickly with increasing attenuation, i.e. increasing distance to the router, especially on 5 GHz.

The Fritz Box 4060 does not have its own modem, but thanks to its integrated telephone system it is well suited for fibre-optic connections with an external modem. Thanks to three WLAN radio units, it can quickly supply many devices with data at the same time.
