Hello, the case is only a plastic box, it cannot be used for charging, it is only a protection.

There is a charging station with a glass on top where you can put the toothbrush - this is how it is charged. If other family members have a different model of the Sonic, they have to use the charger with the pen - I find it rather suboptimal that you have two different systems in the same product family.
