The prerequisite is, of course, that the smoke detector has a Wi-Fi connection. If the connection is available, it does not matter whether your smartphone is in the WLAN or mobile network, it will be alerted in both cases. I have just tested it.

No! Of course the audio alarm works, but you will not receive a notification if the device is not online via WLAN.
