Do I necessarily need a Bosch Smart Home Controller or are there other options (e.g. an Apple TV with Thread)?

Helpful answer
The Bosch Smart Home Controller is mandatory for the Bosch Smart Home Light / Shutter Control II. The control system only works in combination with the Bosch Smart Home Controller and cannot be operated solely via other devices such as an Apple TV with Thread.

Although the Light / Shutter Control II is compatible with voice assistants such as Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, it requires the Bosch Smart Home Controller and the Bosch Smart Home App for integration and control. Other controllers or hubs, such as an Apple TV with Thread, are not supported.

Basically, it is intended by Bosch to be controlled via their smart home controller.
However, if you're a bit more savvy, this is basically a Zigbee 3.0 device.
I use Home Assistant myself (https://www.home-assistant.io/)
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices...
It can also be integrated there without the smart home controller.
But I think you're looking for something simple, without a smart home centre like "Home Assistant".
Spontaneously, I would recommend the Shelly 2PM Gen3 (which communicates via WLAN).
I don't use the Bosch actuator myself.
All of my 12 or so window blinds are controlled via a Shelly Plus 2PM (a predecessor of the 2PM Gen3).
I'm very happy with it.
And if you have a few more weeks patience, you can buy the Shelly 2PM Gen4. (https://www.shelly.com/de)
The advantage of Gen4 is that they are Matter-certified and support ZigBee as well as WLAN.
Basically, you need to think about which wireless standard you want to work with:
ZigBee, Thread, WLAN, Bluetooth.
ZigBee & Thread are great because they are mesh-capable and require little power (relevant for battery operation)
However, Thread is still very new and struggles with teething problems.
And the Bosch actuator mentioned communicates via ZigBee and not via Thread.
If you are an "Apple disciple", then I would go for Matter-certified devices.
And as already mentioned, I would recommend the Shelly 2PM Gen4 via WLAN.
