Yes, you can connect a solar panel directly to the Power Station, as it has an in-built MPPT solar controller that enables direct connection. An additional external solar controller is not necessary; you simply connect the solar panel directly to the DC input (D7909) of the station.

The Power Station also charges during operation, i.e. when outputs are supplying power, as long as the solar input power remains within the specifications. The maximum solar input power is 500 W at 12-60 V and a maximum of 10 A, and the station regulates the input currents itself to prevent overload.
