The IDC cable tester is a compact microprocessor-controlled device that allows for quick and reliable testing of wiring configurations connected with the most common sizes of IDC connectors, ranging from 10 to 64 pins. This versatile cable tester enables the user to identify a correctly manufactured standard flat cable or perform a quick comparison test with a known "good" custom cable. It accepts most center-polarized and unpolarized IDC socket strips for any combination of 10, 14, 16, 20, 26, 34, 40, 50, 60, or 64-pin housings connected at both ends of the flat cable. Bright LEDs clearly indicate conditions passed, errors, open, and short circuit. The cable tester includes a memory function to reduce testing time, an LED self-test, and a "shutdown" feature to preserve battery life. A comprehensive user manual is also included. The tester requires 4x AAA batteries (alkaline or zinc chloride), which must be ordered separately.
