Accessory variant: Adapter
For use with: XPS-MC safety control unit

This adapter is designed for connecting an XPS-MC to a PC for programming and diagnostic purposes. It is compatible with laptop PCs that have a 9-pin serial connection (RS 382-2645 and 544-490) or a USB connection (464-962 and RS 218-080). The XPS MCWIN configuration software offers 30 certified safety functions that can be easily assigned to the safety outputs. There are several combination options and various output conditions available for the safety functions. These safety functions are certified in accordance with EN 954-1/ISO 13849-1 and IEC 61508. All 8 safety outputs are suitable for use in safety-related parts of control systems that comply with Category 4 of the EN 954-1/ISO 13849-1 standard, and each output can disconnect one of its safety circuits.

The following main safety functions are available:

• Emergency stop monitoring, with or without delay, 1- or 2-channel wiring
• Two-hand control (type III-C, conforms to EN 574-1)
• Monitoring of safety devices with one or two limit switches, with or without interlock
• Monitoring of safety devices on injection molding machines and blow molding machines
• Monitoring of coded magnetic safety switches
• Monitoring of safety mats
• Monitoring of light curtains
• Semiconductor and relay outputs
• Standstill detection (zero speed)
• Dynamic monitoring of hydraulic valves on linear and eccentric presses
• Monitoring of safety stops at top dead center of eccentric presses
• Safety time delays
• Damping function for light curtains
• Switch monitoring, 2 or 3 contacts
• Logical OR function
• Foot switch monitoring
• Axis monitoring on chain drives
• Monitoring of hydraulic and eccentric presses
• Position selection.
