Looks great. The installation of the base unit...
Looks great. The installation of the base unit, including the assembly of the individual elements and sensors took about 45 minutes. Afterwards I added the siren. Works surprisingly well and reliable. I tested all sensors. All pushnachrichten came to my phone and also the siren was activated as set. As I said, I am surprised what this system can do! Only the initial syncronisation did not work on my phone right away. Over the web within 2 minutes done. Absolute recommendation on my part!!! P.S. The camera is also already available.

Interesting idea - rather poorly executed
I find the idea behind the system very interesting (apart from the fact that it only works as long as electricity and internet are available). Unfortunately, however, the execution is sometimes almost frighteningly flawed.
The shortcomings are first and foremost in the poorly made and thought-out software, but secondly also in the hardware, which is not really reliable.
Software:
Central to this system is, of course, telling it whether you are at home or not. Actually, one would expect automatic detection (e.g. by whether the smartphone is connected to the home WLAN or not) - but such detection does not exist. So you have to do it manually in the app, which is incomprehensibly only possible in a submenu instead of on the main screen of the app. (At this point, at the latest, one wonders for the first time whether the developers of the system are sane).
Unfortunately, that's not all: the presence/absence profiles also don't do what they are supposed to (according to the description). For example, no alarm is triggered in "Out of home mode" when motion is detected. Absurd!
Then there is the fact that various settings are "coupled" so that they also change in the other profiles when they are changed in one profile. The sense of having several profiles (and of the whole system itself) becomes mysterious. So much only for the most glaring shortcomings. There are others.
Hardware:
Here, the "motion" sensor in particular stands out somewhat. Its detection range seems to be somehow not constant, so that movements in the same place are sometimes detected, sometimes not. On the whole, however, it works. (Except that it completely disappeared just a few hours after initial start-up and had to be re-registered with the system).
Addendum: On the second day of operation, the door sensor also went off. This does not inspire confidence!Pro

OK for the needs with us
Gigaset Elements L is a good and relatively easy-to-install alarm system in e.g. single-family homes.

- Expandable with various sensors / elements
- Easy to set up via IPhone after installation of the APP

- Camera makes unnecessary clicking noises. This makes burglars aware of the camera.
- The Schuco plug is prohibited in Switzerland. Therefore not all elements can be used
- Not suitable for monitoring without a subscription (which incurs costs).

Top set which is easy to integrate, you can leave out the camera
The alarm system is easy to integrate and the individual components work well. The only exception is the camera via WLAN (it works fine via LAN).

Can only recommend this system
The Gigaset Elements works perfectly and was very easy and quick to install. I added a siren to it and it works wonderfully.

Solid system that does exactly what it is supposed to. Not a toy.
I have been using the basic set with various additional window and door sensors, as well as the siren and the camera, for about 14 months. The installation and expansion have always been problem-free. The system ran well from the beginning, but in the beginning there were short server failures. For about six months now, however, it has been running without malfunction or interruption.
The battery life is surprisingly good. So far, I have only had to change the battery on one sensor.
Push messages can be set flexibly and the app makes a mature impression. Only the switch between "At home" and "Away from home" is a bit awkward to achieve. However, people who want to set everything themselves down to the last detail will not be entirely happy with the software.Pro

Super simple installation, everything done via iPhone! Set-up also tiptop, plug-and-play as it should be. Works flawlessly, events are displayed immediately, also have siren, goes off immediately, the dB are extremely loud!

Needs improvement
The system records the movements and sounds the alarm.
I miss the support from digitec. They can't do that, as they wrote to me.
For example, I don't want to record the movements if I don't want to. But I have not yet found a button to do this. I would be happy to receive appropriate support. I would like to buy more modules, but for now I am waiting for the support mentioned.Pro

I am very satisfied and would recommend the product at any time.
The Gigaset Elements components are very easy and quick to install. The configuration is done via app or web browser, is largely self-explanatory and very flexible. Good documentation is available on the Gigaset homepage, including FAQs.

This device gives me complete satisfaction after 10 days of use.
I use it with an iphone 6+ without any problem. There are three weak points:
1) You can't monitor 2 homes (regular home and weekend home) with 1 phone! The application can only manage one system.
2) The operating temperature indicated (+5° -> +45°) does not allow the sensors to be placed outside in winter (e.g. on the shutters, which would give time to intervene before the burglars manage to break the window!)

No smoke and pipe burst/water detectors; so much for home security: weak!

Would not buy the system again
System is not developed further, app is and remains old-fashioned. Many options are missing. Not very reliable, gives false alarms from time to time because switching the mode fails for inexplicable reasons. No IFTTT possible and therefore not really compatible with other smart home systems. Geofence is also not possible.

I've been using the system for a few weeks now and am very satisfied. The setup is intuitive, the app is stable and I feel much safer since then, especially when I'm not at home.

This was a good product until the end of March 2024, but now the company has gone bankrupt and the cloud-based service has been discontinued! This turned the Gigaset Elements into electronic waste! So the conclusion is NOT to buy it - it's a mystery to me why digitec is still selling the product...
