With the Fibaro Double Smart Module you can integrate existing electrical installations (e.g. lighting, ventilation...) into the Z-Wave network. This means that the connected devices can still be switched with the existing wall switch, but thanks to Z-Wave radio also by remote control, smartphone or sensor-controlled automatic. The compact radio module is placed in a wall socket directly behind the conventional switch already located there and transforms standard electrical installations into intelligent Z-Wave-based radio systems. The existing switch no longer switches the consumers directly, but only provides a control signal to the Fibaro module, which in turn controls the consumers. This control takes place either via the local switch or via radio. The FIBARO module works with any switch series and any design, as long as there is enough space in the wall box for installation. In large 65mm deep boxes this should regularly be the case. In smaller boxes (e.g. 45mm) the possibility of use depends on the required depth of the conventional switch as well as the space requirement of the electrical connectors that may also be located in the box.
