Miniature circuit breakers from the FAZ series are available in 6 kA and 10 kA ratings. They come in single, double, and triple pole configurations, featuring thermal and magnetic tripping mechanisms for DIN rail mounting. These breakers offer three selectable tripping characteristics and breaking capacities of either 6 kA for a low-cost series or 10 kA for full rating.

They include a double-break contact system with an internal spark extinction chamber and a storing firing mechanism with free tripping. A clear indication of contact position is provided by a frontal switching lever. The large terminal clamping capacity ranges from 0.75 to 16 mm², and they are compatible with DIN rails, conforming to EN50 022/DIN 46277-3.

These circuit breakers meet the design provisions B, C, and S according to the new international standard IEC 898, BS/EN60-898.

• Curve B: Ensures comfortable tripping at currents 3 to 5 times the rated value, suitable for circuits with low inrush currents, such as incandescent lamps, heating loads, and small buildings.
• Curve C: Provides instantaneous tripping at currents 5 to 10 times the rated value, ideal for circuits with larger inrush currents, such as industrial equipment, larger buildings, motors, and fluorescent lamps.
• Curve S: Features a short circuit response threshold from 13 to 17 times the rated current and an overload threshold from 1.05 to 1.3 times the rated current, making it ideally suited for protecting control circuits where very large inrush currents are expected, such as transformers.
