This buffer/filler material binds liquids and absorbs impacts for dangerous goods packaging, such as storage and transport containers for rechargeable batteries. It can absorb up to seven times its own weight and is temperature resistant to more than 1000 °C. It is non-conductive, non-flammable, and provides good thermal insulation. It is inexpensive, reusable, has no limits on storage, and is harmless to health.

Vermiculite is a natural product and 100% mineral. It is certified non-flammable (building material class A1, DIN 4102) and has a good insulating effect against heat and cold. It cannot burn, making it ideal for use as fire protection. Its special structure prevents damage to sensitive objects, such as lithium batteries, and it immediately absorbs escaping liquids, such as electrolytes from a lithium cell.
