Compact housing for reflective and diffuse scanning. Can be installed in hard-to-reach places where space is limited, but the versatility of a round housing sensor is essential. Available with either NPN or PNP complementary outputs (single-pole changeover). There is the option to use the normally open output as a normally closed alarm output. The alarm output activates when the excessive gain of the sensor decreases in low-light conditions (drop to 1-1.5x). The load for both outputs must not exceed 150 mA. The fixed range units compare the reflection from objects illuminated by the sensor's light beam with two differently aligned detectors in the sensor head. This allows the sensors to detect an object that is only briefly positioned directly in front of another object or background; this distance can be just a few mm. Retro-reflective models feature a special lens that polarizes the emitted light and filters out unwanted reflections, enabling these sensors to be used in situations where retro-reflective scanning would otherwise not be possible. The AC devices are equipped with relays (single-pole changeover) that can switch up to 300 mA (continuous).
