The optical smoke detector responds quickly to smoke produced by smoldering fires. Always install the smoke detector on the ceiling and avoid proximity to devices that may cause interference, such as dimmable lights and air conditioning vents (recommended distance of about 0.5 m). Test the smoke detector regularly, once a month, by pressing the test button until you hear the alarm signal.
