Thule Easy Fold XT2: How do I know that the locking lever of the bicycle carrier to the trailer coupling has been pressed down with 47 kg?

Good question... I set it so that I can just close the clasp with a lot of force. If I set it just a little too hard, I can't close the shackle any more. Then a little less and it holds.
