Question about Garmin Edge 1040

I think that I will buy the device with the European maps as I am not currently travelling any further by bike. If I still need maps from overseas (e.g. Hawaii), can I update them on this device? And will this cost me anything? How much do you think?

Helpful answer
Using Garmin Express on a computer, it is possible to change the maps installed free of charge for those of other continents, for example Routable Cycle map of North America. Note that the Solar version contains twice as much space and can load several regions at the same time. So the difference in price is due to the hardware and not to the availability of the data.

If you register the device on Garmin Connect, there are always map updates and they are free of charge
