I sometimes read online that the Garmin Edge 1040 also comes with a rubber cover - is that the case here?

The solar version comes with a silicone protective cover.

I didn't have one, but Garmin always had/is having bundle offers (with sensors etc.), so there may also be a variant with a protective cover.
