GPS is sufficient, unless you always want precise information even in tunnels and dense forests, i.e. where the GPS signal can sometimes drop out briefly. I personally do not use any additional sensors.

I agree with this answer - I have now fitted a speed and cadence sensor to my bike. However, the GPS measurement on the Edge 130 is sufficient for pure speed information.
