Nylon housing:

Nylon is a robust and durable synthetic fibre traditionally used for strong tyre casings. Nylon threads are less thin than cotton threads, so casings have a lower number of threads per inch. The advantage of nylon casings is that they are robust and durable, extending the life of the tyre casing. However, as it is a synthetic fibre, it is not as supple (soft/flexible) as cotton.
