The Maui was developed using the same sophisticated and advanced "Finite Element" technology that was first introduced in the Impulse and Sprint models. The two-material technology used for the blade means that it essentially consists of two rigid side wings that direct the water flow to the center area, where the overlay of a softer and more elastic material provides greater flexibility. This design allows the blade to bend and create a "spoon effect," resulting in significant propulsion power. The fin can be used with bare feet or light socks. The fabric covering of the EBS strap prevents the elastic elements from stretching out. The heel section is made of soft, anatomical rubber. The strap for putting on the fin wraps around the ankle, ensuring it does not protrude and cause chafing while swimming. Although the EBS itself allows for great adaptability and makes putting on the fin particularly easy, we have equipped the elastic band with a clamp that allows for further adjustments. This feature enables the user to make micro-adjustments—depending on whether they are wearing a sock or not—or simply to loosen or tighten it to ensure that the foot is held securely in place without excessive pressure.
