What does 2.4 or 1.4 litres mean? Can I refill the inner jug until there are 2.4 litres in the large jug?

Helpful answer
The large jug (without the inner jug) holds 2.4 litres. The inner container, which also contains the filter, holds 1 litre. I fill the inner container (1 litre of fresh water) The water then flows through the filter and goes into the large jug. It is advisable to use this litre of filtered water and then filter a new litre. Of course, the filter jug can also be refilled. However, the displacement from the inner jug to the large jug makes it impossible to fill up to a total volume of 2.4 litres.

You can fill the 1st tank all the way, then wait for the water to be filtered before putting it back in the small tank! But if the big tank is full ... nothing else will fit ...

Well, that's possible. But you have to remove the filter or the whole upper part, which contradicts the function. The volume of the entire jug is 2.4, the usable volume is 1.4, the rest is the filter and the water runs out at the bottom until it reaches the outlet.
