We have 5 rooms spread over 3 floors in our house. The idea is to simply start the robot in one room and then carry it to the next room after 10 minutes. This means that in most cases it will not find its way to the charging station itself. Can our use case be done with the Dreame D9?

No problem, you can manage 3 floors and create a map with the corresponding rooms for each floor. You then only have to reload the corresponding floor map, Dream D9 then repositions itself and finds its way back to the floor map with the home station without any problems.
