The AK 2099/E is a very good mobile hotplate with above-average performance. The best I have found! Whether it should or can be screwed down (according to regulations? what regulations?) is up to you, but I wouldn't do it because you also have to clean up grease splashes and dirt under the hotplate. However, this stainless steel plate can easily be stored in a cupboard in the camper; we use it as an additional rechaud to the permanently installed gas rechaud on our boat.
