My Danfoss protruded 25mm. The Tado now protrude 40mm. In general, nothing should stand directly in front of the thermostat, otherwise the temperature measurement is not correct.
There is also the Smart Thermostat which can be mounted anywhere and transmits the temperature to the radiator thermostat.
