So personally I only cooked rice, but the appliance comes with a perforated plastic basket, and I think it can do it quite well. I'm giving you my opinion as a cook, if it's to be used occasionally to cook steamed vegetables, why not, you have to be aware that the volume is limited. If it is to be used mainly for this purpose, I think it is not ideal.
