Robot vacuum
In the past I had a Roomba 780 and was quite happy with it. After it finally died after several years of uses, I bought the Neato D7 in March 2020 due to some good review videos.
In theory it comes with 5 year warranty, but within less than two months it failed - it stopped charging from the base. We contacted galaxus, but there was no response for several weeks. Like they didnt care! And I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years!
Then we contacted Neato, who asked us to send it to their 3rd party repair center (they don't seem to have their own repair centers in Europe).
Now after 2 weeks, they informed us that they can't fix it and it has water damage - really? the base station was always in the dry place, and there has been never water in the areas we used it (i.e. indoors, on the parquet).
They also didnt provide any evidence to support the claims and simply refuse to repair or replace it.
And meanwhile, galaxus continues to neglect this request.
So I spent 400 CHF on this product and learnt that it is unreliable, has terrible customer service from the manufacturer and Galaxus.
In sum, avoid at all costs!

I wanted a robot that sucked well, had a handy app and laser navigation. I found all that in the D7. So far, I'm thrilled with it and every weekday the bot vacuums my flat at 2pm. 45 minutes, doesn't go into the shower, through a virtual line and sends me a floor plan when it's done. The first two times I was pretty creeped out by everything it vacuumed. Where the dust always comes from. And I had to learn that he doesn't like cables. Now, after a week, I am simply satisfied. However, it has to last about 3 years, otherwise it would be too expensive for me. But I won't know that for a few years.

Super hoover. No go lines are respected. Never gets stuck so far. Great price/performance ratio. App awesome. Cleaning times prog. Connected to Alexa Cleans via voice control. Flat divided into areas and targeted area cleaning. Everything works wonderfully. Highly recommended.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an orgy of packaging: 3xpacked. CH power cable is missing, but two "deadbeat cables" D and GB are included; directly for disposal. I already had 2 3D and one 5D. D7 is less noisy but hums unpleasantly. It also has a tendency to push up carpet edges. But cleans well. I hope the filters are compatible with the D5, as they are not with the D3. Now have a useless bearing. Cleaning the dust collector is easy. That's why I stayed with Neato and because I was hoping to use the old material.

Very complicated to maintain. I have already changed the filter and cleaned everything as explained but it still does not work. I was only able to use it properly for a few days before I had this problem.

Meets all expectations and in some cases exceeds them.
Our floor plan is ideal for this little fellow. We have about 70sqm cleaned, which it does in 55 minutes.
The cleaning is done in patterns and quite efficiently. The suction power is excellent from my point of view. The NoGo lines and the floor plan scan work perfectly.

Efficient navigation.
A small drawback (which will not be a drawback for everyone) is that as soon as you move the base, it gets lost and you have to create a new map.
We would also have liked to see it evolve on the map during the cleaning process.
I had serious doubts about its movement and location in the various rooms of the house as well as its suction quality, I was even reluctant to place an order. My doubts were allayed like dust from the first time I turned it on. It goes everywhere, from a height of 10 cm, under the bed and certain pieces of furniture where usually you have to get down on your knees and bend in all directions to come and suck up dust, hair and pet hair. Of course, you shouldn't get rid of your standard hoover because robot hoovers can't properly vacuum corners and the top of baseboards.
In terms of handling, the device works well. However, the actual task, cleaning, is quite poor. On the one hand, the D7 does not reach the edge in simple places up to 8 cm, and that is exactly where the dust is. In addition, the exhaust air goes out horizontally at the back, so the dust is simply blown away in places where it has not yet been vacuumed, of course in places that have already been cleaned or simply under the sofa. The app often says "don't worry if a place hasn't been cleaned yet, the D7 will come back". This is not true, it simply forgets to clean certain places.
I bought this Robo because it is suitable for several floors. The first thing it tells you is to buy a second charging station so you don't have to remove it. Of course, I don't do that if I don't know the quality of the robot. It has to be said that the station with the Robo has to be set to an accuracy of about 2 cm so that it recognises the floor again. This only works with markings, but it works. The charging station note refers to the Neato website, but there is no charging station as an accessory on this website.

I had a Neato D3 before which died after 5 years. The D3 was not connected via an app and could be scheduled but not programmed specifically in terms of space etc. We studied in detail vacuums which included mops but none of them offered the same vacuum performance. I have gained points with my wife since I have programmed specific zones at specific times of the day :)

Overall, the robot does the job. It is very easy to set up. The mapping system is very convenient and efficient. You can create several maps to separate the surface of the apartment/house into several pieces, but this implies moving the base of the robot each time because the robot does not recognize itself on a map without having its starting point with the reloading base).
The automatic programming is a plus. Even if from the moment the robot is connected to the internet, you just have to trigger it from your phone (just before leaving work for example, so that the hoover is finished when you get home).
The robot is relatively noisy (65dB on the technical data sheet) but this is very reasonable compared to a classic hoover.
Disadvantages:
The bin is a bit too small (0.7L), which means that it has to be emptied every two or three times (having a cat, the bin inevitably fills up quite quickly).
The robot is a bit too "reckless" when it comes to moving around and gets into areas from which it cannot necessarily leave afterwards. If it gets stuck, it stops cleaning and calls for help. The cartography and the red zones that must not be crossed can partially solve the problem.

After various brands, definitely one that I no longer consider. Unfortunately, the service via Digitec was anything but great. The staff were all very friendly and helpful on the phone. After 9 months and sending it in 3 times (including 1x to Germany for just under CHF 50.-), the thing only ran for about 3 weeks. Unfortunately, customer service looks different.

Does not find the station if it is moved even 2cm. Previously had a Xiaomi Roborock that ran 100x better. The Neato has now been sold again and I have switched back to Roborock. This is now my 3rd Roborock and I will stay with the manufacturer in the future. They know what they are building.
Never again Neato for the money.

Pretty cool. The app to draw the NoGo lines also works well.
Speed, volume, technology good.
It is important that the No/Go lines are drawn with the barriers during the first cleaning so that the plan can be drawn once.
Installation and connection with the app and Wi-Fi very easy. Dog hair hardly gets caught in the brush and programming cleaning schedules works very well. We only had problems when the vacuum was controlled remotely by hand and returned to the station. It could not start the next cleaning cycle automatically because it could not load the floor plan. When it is then started manually, the automatic cleaning cycles also work again without any problems.

I am completely satisfied. Cleaning the flat without having to be at home is of enormous importance to me.

I already had a predecessor from the Neato BotVac series and have now decided on the D7. After a few minor problems getting the D7 into my Wi-Fi, it is now doing a good job on the parquet and tiled floors. I haven't run it on a carpet yet.
I would recommend a firmware update, which can be installed automatically via the Neato app. The D7 is significantly louder than my old Neato BotVac hoover, which is due to the rotating side brush. I have now removed it and it is now much quieter. Neato should improve this.
