Preheat the oven to 240°. Clean the steel pan supplied with washing-up liquid and dry well. Then rub with a little vegetable oil (not olive oil) and kitchen paper. Inside and outside. Take a new piece of kitchen paper and rub again. There should only be a minimal film of oil. Put the pan in the oven for 1 hour, then switch off the oven and leave to cool. Finished.
The more often the pan is used for cooking, the better the patina will become and the food will stick less and less. I have already made rösti and omelettes. Great stuff.
Never cook at full power on an induction hob. The steel should not heat up quickly. The base could buckle if it heats up too quickly.

I did a lot of research on pans, wanted a cast iron pan but didn't find a suitable one (Lodge is practically unavailable at the moment, Le Creuset a bit too expensive) and finally ended up with wrought iron ones. De Buyer had the best reviews. The other model has a flat, covered handle, so I went with those. I actually wanted a second handle as pictured, but she came without. Now I'm glad I did, it wouldn't have fit in our oven otherwise. Burning in went well, eggs still stick minimally after a week of almost daily use, potatoes not at all. It is fun to fry in this pan. Needed some getting used to, but now it goes smoothly. Am very satisfied.

Reading the comments should make it clear that this pan has no non-stick surface... but
if you prepare it properly (and also the more you use it), its look changes from the beautiful original stainless steel look to a black coating, accumulation of what looks like stains.
And then, often after several weeks, it starts to fulfill its role completely.
Meat is roasted without sticking and seared like in a restaurant.
Look for a video on the Internet describing the basting of a de Buyer frying pan and you will see!
