The seal is made with a fabric strip with zip and a self-adhesive tape (with Velcro) which is stuck directly onto the window frame. The two parts are then joined together (Velcro fastener) and the cooling hose is threaded in. The roll of adhesive tape and the fabric tape are very long. It should also be long enough for large door and window sashes.

No, you should not leave the outdoor unit out in the rain. According to the manual, you should remove the bracket and the outdoor unit during thunderstorms or strong winds. It is also recommended that you switch off the appliance and unplug it if it is not going to be used for a long period of time. The outdoor unit requires regular cleaning and gets dirtiest when it is left outside for long periods of time.

Yes, you can use the appliance as an emergency heater if the normal heating fails. It has a heating function with heat pump technology, energy efficiency class A+ for heating and is designed for outside temperatures down to -10°C. For rooms up to 42 m², it is well suited as a temporary solution or emergency aid, with low consumption of approx. 300-700 watts.

The system itself does not transport air from outside to inside or vice versa. It does not generate any negative pressure, which would then draw air in from somewhere else in the room - this is precisely the advantage of a split air conditioning system. Only refrigerant circulates through the hose between the indoor and outdoor units. The indoor unit only cools the existing room air. This means that fine dust or insects cannot get in through the system itself. The hose is routed through an open window. How clean you make the window seal around it is up to you ;-) It comes with enough accessories. I simply use a cloth that I stuff into the existing gap.

This is certainly not entirely inconvenient, but it is also possible in principle, as the outdoor station can be easily placed on the indoor station and moved to another room using the castors. The outer frame can be briefly loosened with two knurled screws and then reattached and the outdoor station can be mounted again.

According to my research, your appliance is working technically correctly. The lower efficiency at +19 °C is normal because the heat pump is not optimised for continuous operation at minimum output. The full COP is only achieved with typical heating loads (e.g. +2 °C outside temperature). For more detailed information, I recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly. It's not inaudible, but I wouldn't consider it annoying. However, this is very subjective and depends on how far away the device is from you. The description states 62dB as a guide value.

Just check with the supplier who sells you your electricity: In my case, this is the St. Galler Stadtwerke SGSW with a basic price of 8.50 per month/meter plus the price per kWh of 28 cents low tariff, 35 cents high tariff with an average consumption of 200kWh (according to Midea) this would amount to about 65.- in electricity costs. ( without basic price of 8.50.-) I hope I was able to help you...

The connecting hoses of the air conditioning system are not fitted with a quick-release coupling and cannot be disconnected. The coolant hose between the indoor and outdoor units is permanently connected and is part of a closed circuit that cannot be disconnected or extended.

We work with daily prices, which can be influenced by various factors such as purchasing conditions, stock levels and supply and demand. It is therefore difficult to compare us with the competition, especially abroad.

How long is the refrigerant hose?

avatar
Galaxus

The refrigerant hose is 2 metres long and 2.7 cm high and cannot be disconnected. This length enables the connection between the indoor and outdoor units of the air conditioning system.
