Even though the Lock & Lock storage tin is made of stainless steel, it is not ovenproof as it has been specially designed for storage and not for cooking or heating. The base of the tin could theoretically be placed in the oven, but it is not recommended as the gaskets and other materials that provide the airtight seal could be damaged by the heat.

This storage jar is not suitable for the microwave.
