Hello Cècile Have you already called the customer service directly at De Longhi Switzerland? They should be able to help you if you describe the part in question. Greetings Dani

Your machine is in order. The procedure for setting the water hardness is correctly described. BUT: Point 4 requires that the two buttons be pressed "simultaneously". There is absolutely no leeway here: "simultaneously" must really be implemented in this way. There must not be 10 seconds between the touching of these keys! My procedure: two fingers hover over the keys - and lower themselves "simultaneously"! That works. Never before have I had to implement "simultaneously" so uncompromisingly with any device. Have fun - you will succeed.

Hello Slowfood27. Yes, this is normal, because you are not using a capsule, a cavity is created in which water accumulates. When you open the capsule ejector after the hot water, you will notice that it all escapes at once into the drip tray. The coffee machine is not designed for making hot water.

Hello, I have observed something similar, whereby the foam is sometimes perfect and sometimes still almost liquid. I think it also has an influence on how you insert the 10 cm rubber hose after cleaning: The hole at the top must be perpendicular to the machine, then it's better.

Hi, i have been using the machine for a while. I have not noticed any odour yet. It is important to rinse the dishwasher in hot water after every use (I always do it twice), then rinse everything out well. Put it in the dishwasher from time to time and that's it. as i said, i haven't had any problems so far.

Can you also make hot water for tea?

No, not really. Of course, you simply can't insert a capsule and so only hot water comes out. But if you have had coffee before, the water still tastes slightly of coffee.

As the art of coffee is not our primary field of application, we will try to advise you correctly, with the help of the coffee giant. Here are the proportions recommended by Nespresso: Cappuccino: 40ml coffee, 50-70ml milk (http://www.nespresso.com/ultimate-coffee-creations/CH/de/cappuccino.html) Latte Macchiato: 40ml coffee, 100-120ml milk (http://www.nespresso.com/ultimate-coffee-creations/CH/de/latte-macchiato.html) and you can also find other coffee recipes here: http://www.nespresso.com/ultimate-coffee-creations/CH/de/search/all.html
