With Airblade technology, air flows at 690 km/h through openings that are only 0.3 mm wide. The high speed of the air inevitably creates noise. Dyson engineers have managed to reduce the noise level generated by the air streams. This was achieved by redesigning the shape of the exit openings, making it 50% quieter.

Other hand dryers are unhygienic. They do not filter out bacteria or viruses from the washroom air. They suck in contaminated air, which then comes into contact with the hands.
