The tabletop series from the blomus design team features not only typical Japanese shapes that reflect the minimalist design language of everyday objects in the blomus range, but also a fascinating yet very traditional Japanese reactive glaze. This effect glaze develops differently with each firing and responds to the slightest changes in the oxygen levels of the oven atmosphere. Nevertheless, the stoneware items are dishwasher and microwave safe. This semi-matte glaze may exhibit inclusions and imperfections and can get scratched, as it has a very soft surface. However, this is not a flaw but rather a part of this refined manufacturing process. Hence the name Kumi, which is derived from the Japanese word for eternal beauty.
