The kitchen roll holder by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui began in 2015 with the eponymous tabletop piece. The designers drew inspiration from their home, the Casa Boucquillon. The paper roll holder "Barkroll," produced at the company's workshop in Crusinallo di Omegna, is created through a manufacturing process where the metal plate is first cut and then perforated using laser cutting. The perforation reflects knots in the wood, while the cylindrical shape represents the structure of the trunk. This object, both poetic and functional, reminds us with every use that paper comes from trees.
