Question about Philips Hue Bridge

The Hue Bridges cannot "speak" WiFi - at least according to older descriptions and comments that I have found. Has something finally changed in the last 3-5 years, or do you still have to connect them to your home network via Ethernet? For me, that would mean "drilling holes" and I don't want to do that.

Yes, LAN only. The station does not need to be placed centrally as the Hue devices (lamps, light switches, etc.) form their own network. If the station reaches one of these devices, it can communicate with all the others. It is of course better to position it centrally.
