The Dressed placemat was drawn by Marcel Wanders. Traditionally, decorations are always placed on the important and visible parts of an object. Wanders, however, places them in inconspicuous, slightly hidden places, sometimes even in places that are not normally visible. With Wanders, one could therefore speak of introverted decoration. The very name of the Dressed collection suggests a decoration that is conceived like a beautiful dress: it should emphasise the content but not steal its thunder.
The Dressed line includes cutlery, glasses, saucers, a tea and coffee service, a tray and coasters for bottles and glasses.

"Pepa" antipasti platter, four compartments in 18/10 stainless steel, designed by Spanish architect Lluís Clotet.
The seemingly random shape was in fact carefully studied to offer diverse uses and quantities for the appetisers of an aperitif or starter. The shapes range from a small bowl for savoury biscuits, to shapes that grow larger and larger and are divided into two, three or four sections. The particular shape of the mould with its recesses and folds and the bottom lends itself to sauces, as they are thus separated from the other foods.
Clotet belongs to the group of designers who try to contradict the perfection of form, a perfection that today is seen as a reflection of an industrial production that has moved far away from the thinking and craftsmanship of man. Clotet has given all the objects he has created for Alessi names inspired by the literary work of the poet J. V.
