Nelson Cigar Bubble Pendant Light by Hay
The Danish manufacturer Hay produces the Nelson Cigar Pendant Light designed by George Nelson, which he created in 1952. It features an elongated, ribbed, and slightly rounded body with a polymer surface. The lamp emits bright yet softly diffused light through its shade. It integrates seamlessly into any living environment and looks stunning on its own, in pairs, or as part of a group. A combination of different shapes adds a particularly interesting appearance to your space.
George Nelson Design - Cigar Bubble Light
George Nelson (1908-1986) was an American designer and architect who studied at Yale University and the American Academy in Rome. He gained recognition as a design theorist. In 1947, he co-founded an industrial design office with Gordon Chadwick. He received acclaim for his own designs in office furniture, particularly for the Coconut Chair and the Marshmallow Sofa, as well as for his wall and table clocks. He received numerous awards, and his archive is housed at the Vitra Design Museum.
