How can be the reported max length of 136 cm be achieved? Need to purchase extensions? How many extensions can be added (the longest seems to be 28 cm)?

That can only be achieved by buying the extentions. It's misleading and digitec/galaxus should add that in the description. I've measured the gate (white part) which comes to ~68.3 cm and then with those 4 clamp-thingies you can fit it to a ~80 cm door frame. For anything wider you need the extensions. Hope that helps.
