Yesterday I read an article on Digitec that a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels is not 4k. One day later, a TV that falls exactly into this category became a special offer. It is described as 4k, although it is "only" UHD. What exactly do they want to tell me with this?

Digitec takes over the product descriptions of the manufacturers and does not write them itself. But since they have explained this in an article, there is no need to fall for this swindle any more :D

Real 4K with a resolution of 4096 x 2160 would have an aspect ratio of 16:10, because 16:9 is the standard, there are correspondingly fewer pixels. Whether 16:10 or 16:9, the pixel density (ppi) does not change.

I assume that this is mainly due to the fact that the term 4k has become established in general use as a synonym for UHD. If only the correct terms were used now, it would probably cause more confusion among customers.
