Would like to print a DIN A2 picture with the Epson SC-P800 from time to time. However, the print resolution is "only" 2'880 x 1440 dpi. A Canon A3 printer has a resolution of 4'800 x 2'400 dpi. Do I therefore have to expect a loss of quality when printing smaller formats with the SC-P800? Is it worth buying the SC-P880 or would it be better to buy a DIN A3 printer (Canon PIXMA PRO 10S) and have any DIN A2 pictures printed?

Helpful answer

I have been using the Sc-P800 for a few months now.
The print quality convinces me, regardless of whether the format is 10*15 or A2.
It is probably the quality of the colour management, the paper and the correct print profile that determines the print result rather than the printer brand. Epson and Canon build excellent devices and each of them has its advantages and disadvantages. I would take these into account when making a purchase decision.

Of course, I don't know exactly what your requirements are. My experience with the SC-P800 has been very positive and I am very satisfied with the print quality. Even with smaller formats. It is also great that it can print banners. I can highly recommend the printer.
