Question about Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G

Will this lens work on a D3100? And if not, what do you suggest as an alternative? It should be a 50mm f/1.4 for my Nikon.

Does this mean I can't get this quality with this camera? Can you recommend a lens in this regard? A new camera is not in the cards yet....

It fits.
However, it should be noted that a lens on a Nikon DX/APS-C camera does not have 50mm but the cropfactor x1.5, so 50mm x1.5 = 75mm (in 35mm full frame).
