Why should you buy this product and not just buy another BE800 router? That would be cheaper and you can add the router as an EasyMesh point right away

I was able to do some research and in this case you are right. I couldn't find any advantage of the RE800 over the BE800. If the BE800 is cheaper, you have a better choice. If the RE800 is cheaper, you would have the price advantage.
