Letters F.

The "iHAS124-04" drive I bought today is actually an iHAS124-14 and reports in Device Manager as an ATAPI iHAS124 F ATA device. The letter F can also be found on the label at the bottom of the device.

It is well known that drives with the letter W have a particularly good reputation for reading CDs without errors. But what about this drive with the letter F? I have a CD-R on which I could not read 10 of 130 image files with my other drive. With the new drive, all but one could be copied normally. The last file I was able to copy mostly with Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier.

Conclusion/tl;dr;: The device with the letter F not only works flawlessly but to my complete satisfaction. It also reads difficult CDs that other drives have trouble with.

I have no idea. But it doesn't matter. The device works perfectly and at this low price.
