The layout is very difficult to read and sometimes contradictory. Question: 1. does the keyboard contain the umlauts 2. does it contain [ ] { }?

I bought the same keyboard 2 years ago and can confirm that it has all your mentioned characters.
These keys are not printed on the keyboard!
Of course you can type them if you know where they are. But since the keyboard is for Mac and PC, not all characters are printed twice, only the most important ones, e.g. @.
