This phenomenon is due to a broken capacitor on the circuit board of the power supply unit. We have two of these devices and two had exactly the same problem and exactly the same component was broken. This is C1. Simply replace it with a capacitor that has the same capacitance and can handle at least 12 V load. It was actually just this one item that can be purchased for a few cents. The radio then works perfectly again.

Probably a defective electrolytic capacitor (capacitor) or several in the area of the power supply unit. There is a video on disassembly and troubleshooting on the Internet (as of 23/09/2025). But please ensure that everything is only carried out by experts who understand electrical repairs and soldering. There may be a repair cafe in your neighbourhood.
